effective communication

                                                                 About me

Hello! My name is Ramandeep Kaur, and I hail from the vibrant town of Kotkapura, Punjab. Growing up in a loving middle-class family as the second child among four siblings, I learned the value of resilience, hard work, and embracing every opportunity with an open heart.

I graduated from Dr. Chanda Singh Marwah Senior Secondary School, where my journey of self-discovery began. With dreams bigger than borders, I moved to Canada on a student visa to pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Project Management at Yorkville University in Vancouver, British Columbia. This program allows me to refine my skills and build a strong foundation for a dynamic career.

When I’m not diving deep into the world of project management, you’ll often find me in my happy place—cooking delicious meals, stitching creative outfits, or dancing to my favorite tunes. Music fuels my soul, and my hobbies help me maintain a balance between my academic commitments and personal joys.

As I embark on this exciting journey, I’m eager to embrace new opportunities, grow through diverse experiences, and see where my ambitions take me. The future is wide open, and I’m ready to make it extraordinary!

Effective Communication
:

A Personal Reflection and Growth Plan

Communicating effectively is one of those life skills that make all the difference in everyday living, from personal relationships to success in professional life. My strengths and weaknesses will thus provide an avenue through which refinement and growth can be wrought. Below, I discuss my strengths in communication, my challenges, and an action plan toward improvement.

Strengths: Building on What Works

Active Listening

I am good at listening to speakers, trying to understand them, and giving a meaningful response. This helps me gain the confidence of others and make them feel important in a conversation.

Empathy and Understanding

I always handle conversations with much care and an attempt to understand others' feelings. This helps me connect with people on a deeper level, creating meaningful interactions.

Adaptability

This would also enable me to adjust the tone, style, and approach to best suit the context-whether it be with a group or in a one-on-one situation-which is where the magic of communication truly happens.

Respect and Inclusion

I believe in making sure everyone feels welcome and heard; doing so helps create a foundation for teamwork and respect.

Of course, these strengths give a sound basis to my communication, but there is always room for improvement in anyone.

Weaknesses: Areas for Improvement

Even with my strengths, there are some aspects of communication that I struggle with. Following is a prioritized list of the skills I need to develop:

Nonverbal Cues

I have difficulty consistently using appropriate body language, facial expressions, and gestures to support my verbal messages.

Clarity and Conciseness

At times, my explanations tend to be too detailed, causing confusion or a loss of interest.

Questioning Techniques

I will need to develop the skill of probing open-ended and profound questions that result in deeper discussions.

Confidence in Delivery

Am often indecisive while presenting, as this make me appear tentative at times.

Feedback

Giving constructive feedback that is actionable is what I need more practice doing.

Storytelling

Many times, I am at a loss when trying to weave a good story in a manner that secures attention and puts across a poignant message.

Preparation

I tend to rely on improvisation, which can affect the quality of my communication in formal settings.

Use of Technology

Leveraging tools like presentation software and virtual meeting platforms effectively is an area I aim to master.

 Action plan

Communication improvement is a process, and the above plan is my road map. Building on one's strengths and constructively taking on one's weaknesses shall ensure a more confident effective communicator.
